Morning Meditation

a monk among monks
did it – possibly wrong
depicted a moon
it was cold, pale, and small

turning back to the sun
a star among stars
humming a tune
we can hear when we

turn off the world
threw him on his head
as he tried to get up
he fell straight back to bed
